Sooooo, my wee sister who is no longer actually wee stayed at my house over the summer, and infected me with a new thing to fangirl: Doctor Who! I know I'm late to the party, but I tried watching an episode of the show before, and the heavy dose of silly that comes from being a (semi) children's show was too much. However, said sister made me sit through the first few episodes of the new Doctor Who, and I was intrigued. A few more episodes, and i was quite liking it. All of the first season- completely hooked, d'oh! I think I wound up enjoying it because of the structure, which is a definite season-long story arc, although I didn't realize until the finale of the first season wrapped it all up for me. I also quite liked the way the silly comes out as smart-assery sometimes, and Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper were quite entertaining. And then, of course, David Tennant, who is a master of silly faces, crazy breakdowns, and looking adorably scrawny in a pinstriped suit, something that I am a major sucker for as my slim and occasional suit wearing husband can confirm.
I mostly post this to entertain my sister, but I may have to write additional thoughts about the show later. *dorkitude*
